Rev. Ruby Mason-Crum, age 80, of Fayetteville, TN, entered into eternal rest on December 2, 2025. Born on August 14, 1945, in Jackson, TN, Ruby grew up surrounded by family and community, graduating proudly from Merry High School in 1965.
Ruby’s life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience. She was a devoted mother, a cherished sister, and a loyal friend. Those who knew Ruby remember her gentle spirit, her warm smile, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She carried herself with quiet strength and a deep compassion that touched countless lives.
Ruby was blessed with two loving marriages. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Rev. Orzelle Mason and James Crum, who each shared in her journey of faith and family. Though she endured loss, Ruby’s heart remained steadfast, and she continued to pour love into those around her.
She leaves behind her son, Kenneth (Wayne) Wells (Shelia), of Kenosha, WI, and her granddaughter, Alexis Wells, of San Diego, CA, who will carry forward her legacy of kindness and perseverance. Ruby is also survived by her siblings: Earl Coker of Reno, NV; and Doris Aikens, Peggy Miller, and Billy Coker, all of Cleveland, OH. She is lovingly remembered by her extended family and friends, who hold her memory close to their hearts.
Ruby’s life was filled with simple joys, including family gatherings, laughter with friends, and moments of quiet reflection. She believed in the power of community and faith, and her presence was a source of comfort and inspiration.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM, with the funeral service immediately following at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, 521 College St. W, Fayetteville, TN.
In lieu of flowers, friends are invited to honor Ruby’s memory through acts of kindness in their own communities, a reflection of the way she lived her life.
Rev. Ruby Mason-Crum will be deeply missed, but her memory will remain a guiding light for all who loved her.
