Psalm 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Robert L. Bryson, Jr. was affectionately known as “Bop”. After 73 blessed years he answered his Father’s call on Saturday, August 30, 2025. He was one of 13 children born to the late Robert Lee and Fannie Lou Stone Bryson on February 26, 1952, in Fayetteville, TN.
In 2021 Robert L. accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.
Robert L. loved his family. He found joy in talking to his sisters on a regular basis. He was a very joyful, loving, and loveable man. "Bop” loved riding around the community playing his music (loudly). He was seen often in front of Sav-a-Lot where they allowed him to enjoy greeting the customers as they would come and go. “Bop” loved playing old school music, playing cards, and family gatherings. He will be sorely missed by family and friends.
“Bop” worked at Lee Jeans Company until it closed, the Central High School as a custodian, and later retired due to health issues.
“Bop” was the best, fun-loving uncle, but Robert L. was a more serious uncle; if he liked you, he liked you.
Robert L. was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles William and Tommy Lee Bryson; and four sisters, Nancy Jones, Mary Alice Russell, Christine Bryson, and Leolar Jennings.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories:
Siblings: Celia Raybon, Nell Bryson, Willie Lou Hawk, all of Fayetteville; and one sister-in-law, Charlene Bryson of Madison, TN; Nephews: Barrett Raybon, Anthony D. Russell (Annette), Ross Bryson(Mimi), and Robert “Bay” Russell; Nieces: Brenda Bass, Anita Bryson High, Melody Porter, Samantha Burnette, Umeka High (Stanley), Ursula “Moochie” Bryson, Elaine Russell Robinson (Steve), Charlotte Eddings (Sammy), Denise Cannon, Kim Bryson, and Joann Hawk; a host of great nieces and nephews, other cousins, relatives and friends; as well as a special niece: Natalie Askins Russell.
