Michael Jerome Reynolds Sr. was born in Fayetteville, TN on September 22, 1960, to the late George Reynolds and Ella Sue Hadley (Reynolds). Michael entered the presence of God November 10, 2024, surrounded by his Family. Growing up, Michael loved playing sports, particularly football and baseball. He was a proud Tiger when he graduated from the Class of 1978. After graduating high school, Michael joined the United States Navy, stationed in San Diego, California with the Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron Eight (HSC-8) aka the “Eightballers”. During his four years of service, Michael was able to travel and experience many things this world has to offer aboard the USS Constellation CV-64 from 1981-1982. After his deployment he received an Honorable Discharge with the rank of Aviation Ordnanceman Petty Officer 3rd Class. In the mid 1980’s Michael moved to Albion, Michigan to be close to his sister Ruth Helen. In 1990, Michael moved to Battle Creek, Michigan and began attending church at Agape Ministries under the tutelage of Pastor Leodis Graham. During this time at Agape Michael started seeking what was next for him in the Ministry. On December 18th, 1993, Michael married the love of his life LaNita Evonne Watson. Together they both instilled the word of God into their children. Even during trials and tribulations Michael stayed steadfast on God and in prayer. Michael CHERISHED his family and was a provider. He was a staple not only in his children’s lives but also his grandchildren’s lives. Family was truly important to Michael. He also instilled the importance of loving one another and togetherness within his family. He was a mentor and friend to so many. His family will continue to hold on to his memory and the prayers that he gave for generations to come.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lula Mae, Tammy, and Ruth Helen; nephews, Reggie, Keith, and Bernard; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who he loved dearly.
Michael leaves to cherish his memories: his children, TreShawn (Searra), Aaron, Mahkenzie, Michael Jr.(Sadie), Tylan, Mikyala, and Jerome; the Mother of his Children and best friend, LaNita Evonne Reynolds; one sister, Sherrod Redus; one brother, Anthony (Janice) Reynolds; one aunt, Thelma Hadley; grandchildren, Jazzlynn, Jackson, Jayden, Jayse, Luna, and Layla; great-granddaughter, Avery Rae; special nieces, Theresa, Tymico, India, Regina, Karetha (Joseph), and LaShara; brother and sister in Christ, Pastor David & Crystal Jones; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
