On Thursday, August 28, 2025 at 3:42 PM, heaven stood still as one of God’s most faithful servants, Mattie Lee Ewing-Coleman transitioned from this world to a home not built by the hands of man. She passed quietly at her home in Fayetteville, TN surrounded by loved ones and prayer. Mattie Lee Ewing-Coleman was born in Cotton Plant, AR on March 19, 1941 to the late Mr. Wilber Ewing, Sr. and Mrs. Earma Lee Ewing.
Preceding her in death are her father, Wilber Ewing, Sr; mother, Earma Lee Ewing; sons, Clarence Ewing and Willie Coleman; daughter, Priscillia Ann Coleman; sister, Lonzella Ewing; brothers, JC Allen, Joe Allen, Jr, and Wilber Ewing, Jr; devoted and loving companion, Arlington Isom (IKE).
Mattie Lee Ewing-Coleman united in Holy Matrimony with Willie B. Coleman, a precious union that brought forth five precious children. She flourished in Memphis, TN for over sixty years. Shortly after her 80th birthday, she resided in Fayetteville, TN with her son-in-law and daughter, Fletcher Smith II and Patricia Coleman-Smith.
Mother Coleman was a devoted member and one of the esteemed Mothers of The ARK Church in Fayetteville, TN under the visionary leadership of Pastor Fletcher Smith II, and she remained steadfastly active until the Lord called her home to eternal rest.
She leaves to cherish her memories two children: daughter, Patricia Coleman-Smith (Pastor Fletcher Smith II) and son, Reginald Coleman, both of Fayetteville, TN; three sisters: Jessie Hannah of Brinkley, AR; Lover Finley (Lurone Coakley) and Erma Ewing-Conway, both of Little Rock, AR; 13 grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family and friends.
